Answers to common technical questions.

Billing

How am I billed for AI usage?

AI costs are passed through at cost; we add no markup. Every pipeline run logs its token consumption against your account so you can see exactly what generated what. The usage breakdown is visible in Settings → Billing → AI Usage, updated in real-time.

What happens if I exceed my plan?

You'll get an in-app warning at 80% of your included allocation. At 100% the platform stays on; we don't cut you off mid-campaign. Overages are billed at the standard passthrough rate at the end of your billing cycle. You can set a hard spend cap in Billing settings if you'd rather pause new runs than incur overages.

Can I downgrade mid-cycle?

Yes. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle; you keep your current tier features until then. If your current usage exceeds the lower tier's limits, we'll flag the conflicts before confirming the change so nothing breaks on cutover day.

Data ownership

Who owns the content I generate?

You do, entirely. Max Socials has no resale rights, no license to use your output for training, and no claim on anything produced through your account. The content is yours the moment it's generated.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export all content, analytics, and client profiles at any time from Settings → Export. Formats: CSV for tabular data, JSON for full structured export including metadata. Full account export (everything, zipped) is available on Growth+ plans. API access for automated exports is available on Agency+.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation so you can export anything you missed. After 90 days it is permanently and irreversibly deleted from all systems including backups. We'll send reminders at day 30, 60, and 85.

White-label

Can I rebrand the platform entirely?

Full white-label (custom domain, logo, color palette, and email sender) is available on Growth+ tier and above. Your clients see your brand throughout; Max Socials branding is hidden entirely at that tier.

Can I resell Max Socials to my clients?

That's exactly what the agency model is built for. You set your own pricing, invoice your clients directly, and manage all accounts from your dashboard. We bill you; your clients see only your brand and your rates.

Are there any white-label limits?

Below Enterprise tier, your invoice from us still references Max Socials; that's the one remaining visibility point. At Enterprise tier, even that is removed and we operate as a fully invisible infrastructure partner. Custom MSA terms apply at Enterprise.

AI cost & passthrough

How is AI cost calculated?

Each pipeline step that calls an AI model logs the token counts (input + output + cache hits where applicable). The cost is calculated at the model's current public rate. Cached tokens are charged at the reduced cache-read rate, which typically cuts costs 60–80% on repeated prompts within a session.

Can I bring my own model API keys?

Yes, on Agency+ tier and above. When you supply your own keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, or other supported providers, costs flow directly to your provider account; Max Socials charges nothing for those calls. Your keys are encrypted at rest and never logged in plaintext.

What models does Max Socials use by default?

The default model mix is documented per template type in Production Templates. The short version: text generation uses frontier models (currently Claude Sonnet and GPT-4o depending on task); image generation uses Flux; video uses our Remotion-based renderer. You can override defaults per template.

Security & compliance

Is Max Socials SOC 2 certified?

SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress. We expect the report to be available mid-2026. In the meantime, we're happy to share our security controls documentation and answer specific questionnaires for enterprise evaluations. Contact your account team.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. We act as a data processor under GDPR when processing personal data on your behalf. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available for all paid plans; you can request and sign it from maxsocials.com/dpa.

Where is my data stored?

By default, data is stored in US regions. EU-only storage is available on Growth+ plans; enable it in Settings → Data Residency before onboarding clients if regional constraints apply. Note that some third-party distribution channels (social platforms, ad networks) process data in their own jurisdictions regardless of your storage region.
